The city council of New York is currently deciding on a proposed congestion pricing scheme for Manhattan. The proposal was originally introduced by Mayor Bloomberg back in summer 2006 and is inspired by the current systems operating in London and Stockholm. Currently a technical commission is working on the details. The final decision will be made in January 2008.
