With the introduction of a new system of congestion charging, the Milan city Council hopes to reduce the air pollution with 30%. The city has been amongst the most polluted cities in Europe, and the new congestion charging system is specifically targeted at polluting vehicles. The charges are instantiated from Januare 2. and are expected to last the year out.
