The classical method for collected road charges in cities is a cordon ring around the city or just around the city centre. Singapore was the first city to introduce road charging in 197?. Later the cordon rings have been introduced in several Norwegian cities and soon also Stockholm. Some cordon rings only charge inwards traffic, while others charge both directions. The charge can be varied during the day and there can be set a maximum payment for a day or a month.
